SOCIOLOGY Department

Program’s overview

The Bachelor with Honours in Sociology is a three-year program designed to provide the scientific knowledge necessary to promote sustainable societies.
It covers a broad range of fields, including but not limited to deviance and criminality, social problems, gender, employment, leisure, religion, race, migration and ethnic minorities, education, international relations, contemporary African societies and cultures, and sustainable development.

The Bachelor's Degree in Sociology offers you the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge of social sciences, develop a deeper understanding of social structures and institutions, and explore the impacts of advanced technology and globalization. You will engage with sociological theories, research methodologies, and techniques, equipping you with the tools needed to analyze and address complex social issues.

Entry requirements

The student who wishes to enroll in the first year of a Bachelor's degree with honors in Sociology must have successfully completed secondary school with at least two principal passes in relevant subjects.
Acceptable combinations to be admitted include, but are not limited to, Human Sciences (social studies, humanities), Secretarial Studies, Languages, Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Teaching Modern Languages, Latin and Modern Languages, Law and Administration, among others.

Exit and Career profile

The Department of Sociology equips its graduates with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to work in various domains, including rural and urban planning, and the management of institutions providing social and psychological support.
This includes working with individuals facing challenges such as violence, child abuse, disabilities, drug addiction, and juvenile delinquency.
Holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology can pursue leadership roles at various levels of local government, including positions in departments such as Social Affairs, Good Governance, and Social Development.
They are also well-suited for research and consultancy activities related to the development and evaluation of public policies, welfare programs, impact assessments, and similar fields.

Additionally, they can engage in a range of professional activities, including:
  • Serving as directors or technicians in public projects
  • Managing and administering organizations and collective projects
  • Working in industrial and urban planning
  • Engaging in marketing and communication
  • Contributing to social and cultural media
  • Planning and implementing policies
  • Conducting qualitative research
  • Assessing needs and project impacts
  • Performing opinion surveys and market research
  • Organizing events
  • Providing counseling and advice in rehabilitation centers, educational institutions, families, and religious organizations

ECONOMICS Department

Program’s overview

Are you interested in learning how individuals, businesses, and governments make decisions and how the market mediates those decisions crosscutting different levels and domain of analysis?
The Department of Economics fits for you.
The program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of key areas such as the History of Economic Thought, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics.
It covers intermediate economic theory and offers an advanced perspective on economic policy-making and analysis, enabling students to apply their knowledge to practical economic scenarios from the outset.
Additionally, the program allows students to focus on specialized areas including Public Economics, International Trade, Development Economics, International Finance, Financial Markets, Monetary Economics, and Econometrics.

Entry requirements

Students wishing to enroll in the first year of the Bachelor’s degree with honours in Economics must have successfully completed secondary school with at least two principal passes in one of the following combinations:

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT Department

The Department of Business Management offers two basic managerial undergraduates programs namely: Accounting and Finance.

Program’s overview

This program provides knowledge of accounting principles, analytical tools, and practical skills necessary for making accounting decisions.
It offers courses that enable students to analyze and communicate financial information for various organizations.
Additionally, upon completing a bachelor's degree in Business Management with a specialization in Accounting, graduates will be equipped to offer services related to budget analysis, financial and investment planning, information technology consulting, and business legal assistance.

Students wishing to enroll in the first year of the Bachelor’s degree with honours in Business Management, with a focus on Accounting, must have successfully completed secondary school with at least two principal passes in one of the following:
